Northwood Volunteer - Halifax Location

Northwood  lives of 6,500 people in Nova Scotia every day. Northwood has since become a powerful voice for the senior citizen community within Nova Scotia, advocating for a new approach to aging in place. Northwood offers a few different healthcare and living options, them being: Long-term Care, Home care, Retirement Living, and Northwood Intouch (sensors and detectors combined with 24-7 professional monitoring allowing the individual to remain independent and in their own home). 

• Help keep seniors safe, comfortable and happy
• Have the chance to make a seniors life better by providing entertainment, safety and peace of mind
• Provide pastoral care
• Problem solving capabilities
• Provide administrative support
• Assist in running programs
• Get Connected a weekly social call to a senior  in the community. 

Volunteer Requirements:

• Must fill out an application form
• Individuals aged 18 and over are required to complete a satisfactory criminal record check prior to starting
